American Groves

The design of this senior living facility was inspired by Gilbert's farming legacy and agrarian architecture. The goal is to create a comfortable, approachable, and homey atmosphere without a hint of institutional feel. Key features such as the lobby, restaurant, and fitness facilities are prominently displayed on the exterior to make it easier for residents to find their way and to add visual interest. All units and amenity spaces are directly connected to the exterior, providing flexibility and allowing residents to feel connected to outdoor spaces.

Programmatically, the facility consists of 89 luxury residences, a full-service health and wellness center, multiple dining options, a bar, a salon, an art space, a movie theater, and a country store. The residences are designed with an "age in place" sensibility to accommodate a full range of resident support, from independent to assisted living needs.
