Planned as a remodel of the existing Malibu golf club, this project provided an opportunity to develop a destination hospitality project focused on golf, fitness recovery and a world-class sports management retreat.
The project balanced the environmental concerns of the California Coastal Commission with the needs of the facility. This included maintaining open space, adhering to fire setback restrictions, renewing the watershed integrity, and utilizing active and passive solar design.
The project included a 30,000 sq. ft. destination spa, 33 guest bungalows, meeting space, and a golf clubhouse, golf school, and grill with rooftop putting green, and a destination restaurant. The project also included extensive renovation of the existing Malibu golf course.
Services included master planning, conceptual design, and entitlements.
